Michael Waters
Web Graphics/Multimedia Design
|
Michael Waters
Michael went to college at Ohio University for Communications. After college he went to visit family in Charleston, SC and decided to relocate there. Currently he works for Modulant as a contractor doing web development and design for a knowledge management group. He is learning that the lessons and practices in his leadership role carry over strongly into the business world as well as the practices he is learning in knowledge management carry over into his role in the non profit sector. In May of 2008 Michael started putting his design skills to use for Take It To The Streets and his role in the organization has greatly increased. While he was content to work behind the scenes that was not the path that God had laid out for him. He still maintains the TI2TS website, blog, and Facebook page and also has taken on the role of Field Day Coordinator.
Working on an intimate level with the children and family's of the community has opened his eyes to a greater need and sense of calling. Michael now serves on the front lines every week serving the community in their own backyard. While he is still heavily involved in the informational design for the organization, it is not a substitute for face to face serving. There is an ever growing need for people who are willing to give of their time and their selves to volunteer in the community. Michael's hope is that through his design work he can help reach new volunteers to join the cause and reach out to their community.

Martha Martin
Director of Outreach
|
Martha Martin
While walking through the park one day with a friend, Martha Martin happened upon the 1st annual Take It To The Streets Unity in the Community Concert. She was so impressed by the mission and the enthusiasm of the Take It To The Streets volunteers she wanted to get involved right away. Martha Martin has been volunteering with Take It To The Streets since May 2008. As a design major her first area of interest was behind the scenes working on the organizations graphics. That changed after her first time helping out with the neighborhood outreach. While she still contributes to some of the graphic work, her heart is being on the front lines building relationships with the people in the community.
Martha has worked as a nanny for 5 years. Prior to that, she was the after school teacher for a daycare. Since early part of 2009 she has headed up the Children's Ministry during field days. She is currently in school for middle school education. She hopes to be able to pour every aspect of her life teaching children how to be positive role models in their community.
